Don Seenu has been released on Aug 06, 2010 and it is a typical Ravi Teja's film. Gopichand Malineni's debut directional movie has all the ingredients of entertainment. Shreya Saran is also back with full-fledged role in Telugu screen after five long years and the movie also marks the debut of Anjana Sukhani in Telugu film industry. Read on for the review.

STORY:
Seenu (Ravi Teja) is a big fan of Amitabh Bachchan and adores his film Don a lot. He always wanted to be called as ‘Don Seenu’ and never answer anyone who calls him Seenu. He runs away from his house as his stepmother (Sudha) wanted him to join in a hostel. However, a film operator of a theatre and his daughter Lakshmi (Kasturi) give him shelter and get him educated till his Class X. At this juncture, Narsing (Srihari) falls in love with Lakshmi against the wishes of his father (Vijayaranga Raju). So he manages Narsing’s close friend Machiraju (Sayaji Shinde) and makes Machiraju believe that Lakshmi was eloping with him. This makes Narsing to desert Lakshmi. This also widens the gap between both the friends Narsing and Machiraju, who settle as land mafia dons in Hyderabad

Later, Narsing wins the confidence of Mukesh Duggal (Mahesh Manjrekar),a big mafia don in Dubai. Machiraju could not match himself with Narsing, but always imitates Narsing right from reading newspapers to joining his sister in a German college. In order to beat Narsing, Machiraju takes the help of Don Seenu and sends him to Germany to win the heart of Narsing’s sister. However, Seenu falls in love with Machiraju’s sister Deepti (Shreya). What happens next should be seen on screen.

PLUS:
Ravi Teja has given energetic performance as usual. He has maintained the perfect comedy timing and showed lots of ease in action scenes as well as in dances. His dialogue delivery is perfect and with the story being tailor-made for him, he has given excellent performance in the film. Shreya is another asset for the movie. It is a treat to watch her on screen with her sexy costumes. Nonetheless, she even stoles the show with her acting skills. Anjana Sukhani, who made her debut with this film is okay. Though not glamorous on par with Shreya. Srihari has almost replayed his role of the film Dhee. Sayaji Shinde has done justice to his role as a villain. Mahesh Manjrekar is also okay as Dubai Don, but his character was not etched well.

MINUS:
Though the film is quite entertaining, the story of the film is pretty old and easily predictable. The audiences get a feel of watching bits and pieces of the films like Kick, Dubai Seenu, Dhee and Bujjigadu. However, the director’s ability in giving a twist during the interval has given a fresh feel. The cinematography is okay. Editing is poor as there are many scenes which could be trimmed. In fact, the length of the film is also very long when compared to films of present times. Another drawback of the film is the music by Manisharma. But for a couple of songs (like the title song and Raja Raja Ravi Teja), none of the tunes are impressive. However, the background score is a little bit okay. Screenplay is jarring, but it was bearable due to the grip maintained by the director on the story. The climax could have been better.

REMARKS:
In a nuttshell, the Don Seenu is a typical Ravi Teja film as it has all the ingredients that the audiences expect from Ravi Teja’s film. Can be watched once for the energetic performance of Ravi Teja, Shreya’s glamour, witty dialogues by Kona Venkat and impressive narration.

DON SEENU MOVIE REVIEWS

Finally Don Seenu is a wake up call for Ravi Teja, if he doesn't do a rethink on his stories, the best of performances will fall flat. Despite coming up with many tricks and variations, the film keeps you amused only in parts. Don Seenu needs a lot of clipping to be tolerated. Read More

Songs were a letdown but the background score was good. Cinematography was impressive. Editing could have been better. Costumes, art department made their presence felt. At the box office, this has the right menu to end up as a profit grosser. Read More

BharatStudent 3.25/5
While the first half is good with elements of comedy, romance, good locations etc, the second half gets dragged due to unwanted songs and scenes. The climax was also not that great. It must be mentioned that the Shriya factor will work a lot to this movie. Read More

'Don Seenu' is a typical Ravi Teja entertainer. Dividing the movie in to two parts - an unhurried first half and a long cramped second half, filled with commercial elements like fights, songs and comedy make this movie a time pass. Read More

Rediff.com 2.5/5
The film has been shot well by Sameer Reddy. Mani Sharma's music sounds okay but the songs don't have a lingering effect. Don Seenu is an out and out commercial potboiler which provides mindless entertainment. It's Ravi Teja's show all the way! Read More

TeluguCinema.com 3/5
If you are expecting typical laughs from Ravi Teja's film, Don Seenu may seem good timepass. But if you are really looking some 'kick' entertainment, this film is not right choice. On the whole, Don Seenu is predictable but the package of glamour, some comedy and action makes it okay. Read More

First half of the movie is entertaining with a nice interval twist. The graph in the second half goes down as the climax progresses. Mute episode is good in the second half. Climax should have been better. Read More
